About the Institute:

Meenakshi Medical College was given a status of Deemed University from 2003 by Human Resource Development Ministry, Govt. of India on the advice of UGC under section (3) of UGC Act 1956 vide their notification No. F-9-11/2000-U.3.

MBBS:

Admission of students of MMCH&RI is made strictly on merit based on an All India Examination (NEET) as prescribed by the MCI and UGC Regulations and in consistence with the National policy in this behalf from time to time.

Selection will be made after counseling as per the merit list. Classes will be started in August. The Degrees are awarded by the University for the successful candidates.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

 

1. Introduction

The admissions to MBBS courses shall be done on the basis of the merit list as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2017 - 18 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Delhi by DGHS New Delhi.

2. Fee Structure

Annual fee structure for the candidate, admitted to the course, under different categories shall be as follows:

* Rate varies as per the dollars rate at the time of admission.

The Annual fee for the first year MBBS is to be paid by the student at the time of counseling and on-the-spot admission session by a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Dean Meenakchi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Enathur, Kanchipuram for MBBS.

3. University Examination Fee

In addition to the above fees the student should pay the University Examination Fee as prescribed by the University from time to time. Other conditions and formalities shall be as per the Rules of the University.

4. Hostel Accommodation

Hostel is compulsory for 1st year of MBBS students.

Comfortable and Sufficient Hostel accommodation with Telephone, Internet & Mess facilities is available for Boys & Girls Separately.


Post graduate Courses:

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for All India Common Entrance National Eligibility and Entrance test(NEET)-2017 for selection of candidates for admission to Postgraduate Courses in Medicine (MD/MS) for the academic year 2016-17 in the colleges of Meenakshi Medical College. Duration of course: Three years course.

The College is recognized by U.G.C (University Grants Commission) / M.C.I. (Medical Council of India) for both Undergradaute and post graduate courses.

Eligibility Criteria for appearing the Entrance Test:

Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine course should hold MBBS degree of recognized University by MCI.

  • A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 31 March, 2016 can appear for NEET-2017.
  • All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.
  • A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI (as the case may be) or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration, he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.
  • Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at NEET-2017
  • Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at NEET-2017.
  • Candidates who have completed Medicine postgraduate course or would be completing by 31.03.2016 will be eligible for NEET-2017 for admission to Medicine postgraduate degree in the same subject only.
Allied Health Science Courses :

Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc Degree Course should have obtained not less than 40% marks in aggregate in Physics /Zoology) at the qualifying Examination (Academic Stream 0+2/HSE/PUC)after a Period of 12 years Study.

Candidates who have studied abroad, the equivalent qualification as determined by the Association of Indian universities shall form the guidelines to determine the Eligibility and Should have Passed in the Subjects of Physics , Chemistry &Biology(Botany/Zoology) and English up to the 12th standard level with 40% marks aggregate

Duration: 3 Years

Post Graduate non Clinical Degree Course :

A candidate who has passed in any of the following examination from the recognized university accepted by this university as equivalent there to shall be Permitted to appear and qualify for M.Sc Degree (In the Faculty of Medicine).

  • B.Sc Degree In Zoology ,Botany, Chemistry and Biochemistry or microbiology (either as a major or ancillary Subject, Medical Laboratory Technologies and Allied Health Sciences).
  • Professional Course Like B.S.M.S, B.U. M.S and B.A.M.S and B.H.M.S
  • Other Graduates With B.Sc Level Knowledge in any Biological Sciences Either at major or ancillary Level is also eligible to apply to this course.
